The digital revolution is accompanied by a new concept of the digital worker. For now, companies do not seem to be fully prepared to embrace a type of employee that is much closer to mobile workforces and issues such as flexible working hours, despite the fact that it is confirmed as a formula that increases productivity and allows talent retention.

The truth is that no matter how we look at it, companies will have to come to terms with this new reality and will have to catch up with plans that do not go beyond five years.

Measures to be adopted

As we have already announced, digital workers are more willing to jump on the enterprise mobility bandwagon. This is forcing companies to take a step forward and prepare their companies for the new times. In this case, remote access will be essential, so that the mobile employee can connect from anywhere and at any time, in order to meet the demand for remote work. We must also take into account the variability of the environments, since the employee can access from the devices provided by the company or from his own. In addition, tablets and smartphones may have different operating systems and this should not collapse the possibility of remote production because of access difficulties. A good i-Cloud service will be essential, as the new digital, mobile-friendly employees must be able to access data whenever they need it. Software and solutions cannot be left behind in this escalation and must be maximized to be able to accommodate improvements at least in the medium term. Of course, in this set-up for enterprise mobility, we cannot leave aside issues such as security, for which we must implement the appropriate protocols that allow employees to work safely and keep corporate information safe.
